About Andrew Marston Consulting
Andrew Marston has a successful track record in HR at senior levels in both Local Government and the Police Service with proven success in managing major change and driving performance.
He worked as Assistant Chief Executive at West Lancashire District Council and Chief Personnel Advisor at Stockport Council. His most recent senior role was as Assistant Chief Officer HR at Greater Manchester Police, where he lead major changes in HR provision and implemented a Leadership Development Programme credited with driving improvements in performance.
Andrew’s skills lie in communication and engagement of staff at all levels, partners and stakeholders to deliver key results. He retains an outstanding ability to work with individuals and teams to motivate and develop talent to achieve organisational priorities.
A Chartered Fellow of C.I.P.D and accredited Performance Coach, Andrew now has a well established track record of successful Consultancy work, including:
- Coaching of Senior Leaders for Cumbria Police, Hull City Council and Salford University;
- Review of the Senior Management structure for a City Council and a Police Authority;
- Developing H.R. Capacity and H.R. Standards projects for the National Policing Improvement Agency;
- Developing a regional Coaching Exchange Network for the North West Local Authorities’ Employers Organisation;
- Facilitating Senior Team Away days, Middle Manager and Staff Development programmes, and Coaching Skills Workshops for an NHS Agency;
- Recruitment of Senior HR posts for Humberside, Merseyside and Suffolk Police forces;
- Advice and assistance in resolving Employee Relations, Discipline, Bullying and Capability issues for West Midlands, Cheshire, Cumbria and Gloucestershire Police forces.
We also have a small number of highly skilled and experienced Associates who can work with us to provide additional support where required.
As well as operating as an Independent Consultant we also work with other organisations as an Associate Consultant including North West Employers, NPIA, LSN and SOLACE Enterprises.
